Yoga In Schools
Melanin Yoga Project aims to provide weekly mindfulness and yoga classes in schools that have been identified as serving low socioeconomic status families. In addition to addressing the students, we aim to provide professional development services for teachers as well.
Melanin Yoga Project aims to provide weekly free mindfulness and yoga classes in community centers, shelters, and at public parks in the Houston area. Our desire is to create positive relationships in underserved communities to educate individuals on the benefits of a regular yoga practice. As a community-oriented organization, we additionally aim to provide a space and platform for minority yoga teachers, educators, and health practitioners to share with the community.
