Workshop: Illuminate Your Core
Instructor: Cat Allen

This class is great for anyone who wants relief from back pain, hip pain, or stress. Cat Allen will guide you through an asana class that focuses heavily on core exercises that promote stability and resilience in the core, specifically from hips to ribs, and optimal breathing. The relationship between your core and your breath influences everything in your life, from how you make big and small decisions (or not make them) to how you manage your stress and pain to how you interact with others. You will leave this class breathing better and feeling light and spacious in your core so that you can more easily move forward in your life with additional clarity and resourcefulness. Be prepared to move your body and heat yourself up in the practice. Bring a yoga mat, water, a block, and a big body towel. We will be using the body towel as a yoga prop, not as a sweat rag.
Workshop/Lecture: Cures for the Curious

Yoga asana (poses) is just one aspect of the eight limbs of yoga. Cures for the Curious draws awareness to body-mind connectivity through breath and gentle movement. Incorporating aspects of hatha yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and pranayama (breathwork). The class is for all levels and will provide posture modifications that most anyone can benefit. Dr. Inge “Yaya” Ford is a veteran yoga practitioner and teacher. She became a yoga therapist over 10 years ago as a result of a personal health healing journey. She has taught hatha yoga asana in the US, Mexico, Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. A healthcare professional, mom to four adult children, and Yaya (g-mom) to five, she delights in sharing her energy and passion for wellness to young and seasoned alike.

Our digestion is one of the most important functions of the body for overall health and wellbeing. Digestion is closely linked to stress levels, immunity, nutrient deficiencies, and intolerance. We will also explore food as medicine to nourish your body, improve your energy levels, and alleviate common digestive issues. Learn about foods that contribute to a healthy digestion, which foods have the highest nutritional value and foods that support ease of elimination. This workshop and lecture will also guide you through yoga postures, meditation and breathing techniques that facilitate and strengthen a healthy digestion system.
